Kinda my thoughts, as the constant air pressure keep exhalation from going back in the hose.
Only thing would be the moisturizer part. I'm supposed to dump out any unused distilled water from the reservoir daily and put in new. Possibly could have mold form in the hose from the moisturizer? IDK.
