We had to get permits from the state and county we live in. We sometimes also have to get permits to operate in the cities we set up in. We also carry an insurance policy just for what we are doing. The state also requires us to process at a place with a USDA inspector. it is a fair bit of red tape, but once you figure it out, it isn't too bad.
