Cedar Rapids, Iowa | Call up stellar support and ask them when they are going to allow their receivers to play with the rest of the world. It would be unfortunate if they released this functionality shortly after you committed the $ to buying a JD base station. Secondly, the proprietary thing seems to have been working well for them so far, and the only reason for them to reconsider that strategy is customer demand. If this is something you would be interested in, let them know.
That said, RTN support is already a topic of interest on their internal dealer forum, as there are a lot of JD customers asking their dealers if their systems can use a RTN. Furthermore, there are JD people reading this forum, and probably this thread. (Hi guys.) I'm sure they are already well aware of the customer demand for RTN support.
