Just changed the belt on mine this past fall.
Long time IH mechanic said I didn't have to remove side panel but I ended up taking it off. Not as bad as I thought it would be.
Use a strap over your unloading auger to support the hydro and slide it away.
As others mentioned, the shaft is probably worn and should be replaced.
