I had one sow that would walk up to an electric fence and cock its head toward the wire like she was studying it. Then quickly she would slide under the wire and escape outside the fence. I finally realized there must have been a snap of electricity arcing off something (grass, etc) and she would listen for it and slip between pulses of electricity.
