mid west mi | About 8 guys that shot archery at a local club got together and shoot our black powder guns at one guys house We had a blast! We shot at homemade targets mostly breakables like plastic spoons poker chips skoal tin tops charcoal golf balls most anything you could glue on cardboard. . About a year later our group got big enough we started a club and shoot at school property {old FFA ground} we found a number of somewhat local clubs, within 100 miles we would get together and hold weekend shoots, Mostly we shoot offhand , open sights, patched round ball.. There is an organization nationally known as the NMLRA they have charter clubs in most states most clubs hold a shoot or 2 a month you could google and see how close to your area they are They hold a spring shoot at friendship Indiana with way over 200 matches Pistol , skeet trap. slug gun benchrest, crosssticks offhand 25 50 100 200 yards and more They also hold winter national matches in Arizona
