Soooo, if they do any planning over there, and the beginning of the “crisis” is quite a number of months old. They could have a share of the extra needed replacement sows quite far along already? As long as the breeding stock doesn’t get wiped out?
They culled something like a million sows last year and ASF is just getting going, plus they're pulling pigs forward (slaughter Lbs/pig is down) which tells me they're going to have a window of shortage at some point. Hog marketing is an art, not a science and if you get going to far ahead on that hamster wheel you're gonna fall.... |
