NW MN | If it was just a tariff we would’ve seen shipments going to China the whole time since they put their soybean tariff in place. The board price did get cheaper and I couldn’t tell on shipping cost but I’m guessing less demand might’ve meant cheaper shipping.
Absolutely not fair but our government doesn’t have the control of our importers like there’s especially with a single product like a agriculture product.
I might be wholly wrong on calling it a unofficial embargo but if it was/is just a tariff shouldn’t some product still be moving out of the US just at cheaper prices to Chinese buyers that would compensate them for the Chinese tariff?
Again I took Econ classes a long time ago and international trade tools wasn’t in depth. | |
