If you are running an S680 running say 80% engine load you will be running roughly 69% engine load on the S690 with same header, crop, etc.
So in this case, since you are not sitting at max power level even with a S680, the S690 won't burn more fuel being you are not utilizing max power threshold.
However, if you take a S680 and run it at max power threshold compared to a S690 max power threshold it will be roughly 4GPH difference because if you have 70HP more available from a S690 to a S680, in this case it will burn more fuel because its available.
In your case, if you are not utilizing the extra power given in the difference between a S680/S690 it will not burn any more fuel.
