Nwmo | I've been looking into upgrading a pro to a Viper 4 and it's my understanding if you have a long box smart steer controller it won't work with a viper 4 or 4+. The long box smart steer controller looks like a Phoenix receiver box and it connects to the Viper pro via serial connection. The Viper 4 does not have a serial port so the Smart steer has to connect via CAN. Keep in mind I'm new to all the raven stuff so I could be all wet on my assumptions.
