Subject: RE: how much insulation comes from snow?

Northeast Iowa
We had high water table water and some drainage over-run a low "bowl" in our area.

What it looked like was up to 8 inches of surface water on top of the soil, corn plants standing in it.

Just wondering if we got that froze up enough to run a combine over. The last time we were out trying to get it, we could get right up next to the water's edge. Figured if the water froze all the way down to the soil, the saturated soil would freeze too.
