I use two products from linksys, first a Linksys - Wireless-G Broadband Router with 4-Port Ethernet Switch
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8741365&type=product&...
then a
Linksys - 802.11g Wireless-G Range Expander

The expander goes in the house, plug into the nearest outlet to the shop, after you set it up in the shop. Just follow the instructions. I like using products from the same company to make installing easier.

Edit: If your laptop has a N card a N router might be all you need. They are supposed to have more range and be quicker.
