I think you will find that every  person as of yet that has tried that combo has worked so far. 

Deere officially says, "No".  I can think of about ten reasons why they say that.  Obsolete the old display (it works but they won't support the combo), if something breaks firmware wise they can wash their hands, etc.  Anyways, it's officially not supported but like I said, I haven't heard of it not working for anyone.   That's not saying a firmware update doesn't break it in the future.  To be honest it's an old display and it can't be expected for ma Deere to officially support it forever.  That being said I have one and I will keep it until it dies and then go to a 2630.  I have no interest in the new ones with the subscription based unlocks.
