| A lot depends on whether a trade deal is reached with China by Mar. 1. And that's plenty of time to influence acres. If there's a trade deal, particularly if the deal includes an increased commitment for exports then acres might even increase. If I were the Chinese, I would guarantee an increase in soybean imports from the US and make it public next month. All they would be doing is changing the origination of beans they need anyhow.
Can you just imagine the pressure that would put on the administration to make a deal. The Midwest would be on fire for it. | |
