West of Broken Bow | One of my late uncles owned a boot and saddle shop. He sold new boots and saddles, but also repaired and built new saddles and custom boots too if you so desired. A younger uncle ended up getting one of the late uncle’s HD sewing machines made for leather work and went to work doing that as a side business. I stand to inherit all of the tools, because his sons don’t want anything to do with it. My hope is to learn as much as possible about the trade before he too passes. He’s my last living uncle. Saddle making and general leather work is something I’ve wanted to get into for a long while. | |
