Subject: 0x2 fertilizer pump

NE Iowa
Currently in the process of setting up our 12 row Kinze 3200 with a 0x2x2 system. Got the Totally Tubular TT-300’s installed while I’ve been pondering/researching pump options. Most commonly, these planters were setup with a John blue piston pump that ran off the seed transmission. Another fellow advised that I use a squeeze pump driven off its own contact wheel. I have reservations on driving a piston pump off of the seed transmission, as I feel it could potentially cause drag. I know a lot of people do it this way, but I feel that seed placement is far too crucial to risk it (maybe I need some more advice from people with experience). The squeeze pump option is okay, but are they durable? Are there any electric pumps capable of moving 20-25 gpa? I could run one pump on each tank, so that one pump would only be responsible for 6 rows. I’m looking for ease of operation, accurate metering, and of course low cost.
