NC Iowa | If you have any smartweed, or velvetleaf, the metolachlor won't touch it. I believe your acetochlor will be slightly better on pigweed, ragweed and lambsquarters.
Metolachlor should have longer soil residual and takes less moisture to activate. Anyone correct me if wrong.
Price wise, yes, you will be considerably cheaper with the metolachlor.
Edit: If you add atrazine to the metolachlor you could get control of the smartweed or velvetleaf. Alone, you won't have control.
