The model number is the engine horsepower.  All 6170s have the same horsepower and it doesn't matter what letter comes after it.  Tractordata shows the same for both tractors too. 



We are Both wrong. Tractor data didn’t do actual tests on the M. Also it seems the M is foreign built. The R has 163 PTO HP tested by tractor data.
