Breckenridge, MI | We've brought in just shy of 120 head since Saturday (not a lot for some but a lot for me). First group is 78 head of coloreds - about 1/3 steers and 2/3 heifers - bought the first week of December and sent to a preconditioner for a month. For fly weight sale barn calves they have been decent so far, 7 pulls, 2 re-treats and 0 deads, hopefully they stay straight now that they're home. The plan is to grow these on baleage and corn silage, hopefully the feeder market picks up going into spring and we can turn them for a decent profit - bought right is half sold anyways.
Second group came today, 40 Holsteins weighing 650. Nice looking calves and even better when you can contact for just shy of $100.
