Most of the full windshields that guys keep are real glass. (Only a few hundred). I run a half plastic Loc-N-Ride that can collect dust but I seldom look through it -- I mostly like it to direct the wind over me and usually look over it so dust doesn't really bother me. For real steep up and down stuff, I pop the windshield off and carry it in the cab because it can obstruct seeing which cliff I'm about to fall off. New Ride Command has a front camera for those situations so I may not have to remove the windshield at all.
