Nw Iowa | Looks like it was under the money? Building site pretty conservatively at 12-12% of value? Pictures never really show how hilly it is. Where soils pretty decent?
Bought a farm like that a few years ago, call it my retirement farm. About same tillable ratio. But building site is junk.Fields are cut up but close to where I live. Soils are good and nothing drowns. Kind of fun to take gator over on a summer night, see the cows( rented pasture to young guy) see a few Deer and some other wildlife and check the crops. Put 13 acres in crp which was hilliest and poorest soil types and get best return off of that. Grandkids will also have fun as they grow up there. Sometimes even in the winter I just go walk the pasture - woods and think. Poorest farm I own but most rewarding in its own way. | |
