You can tell if the 8th digit of the VIN is a D. I did some googling, looks like I was wrong all 05's were LLYs. Some 2006's were LLY's but were mechanically identical to the LBZ. Just had LLY tuning. http://www.duramaxhub.com/duramax-vin.html
