N.E. MT | There are BAD places to take Cattle. There are also some very good ones. Make an informed decision as to where to go. Ask a lot of questions on billing. Are you paying for feed as dm or for feed+ moisture. Is bedding included in yardage or extra? Processing fees? Marketing costs? Feed markup, again on dm or as fed basis? Verified scales on the trucks? It is very simple to fudge a truck scale 10%. Most feedyards are just guy like you and I trying to make an honest living but some of the are crooked shooters so beware. Best custom lot we’ve ever been to out of about 20 is county line feeders armour sd. Not the cheapest gain but good honest trustworthy people who truly treat your calves like there own. | |
