How would a life lease work?
I bought my house and the associated buildings giving the seller a life lease. He lived in the house and used the garage like nothing happened. After he passed I got possession of the house. I was content how it ended. During negotiations I pushed for a timetable for how long after death they had to clean the house out the one son just kept saying don’t worry about it. At the funeral that son said I’ll call you tonight he called before 5 pm and said lock your house up the keys are on the kitchen counter. We closed on the house mid May, he went to a nursing home just before Christmas and passed on New Years Eve. In the right situation I’d do it again. One of sellers sons is on here maybe he’ll reply. |
