in the wintertime we have 2 trash cans in the house, one is just for paper, cardboard etc. we don't burn trash other than that. occasionally if I am cleaning up the woodshed I will throw in some plastic or something and notice no difference, nor any smell in the exhaust. apparently the 2000ish degree secondary burn takes care of that.
