Thanks. There is quite a variety of crops around here.
Our normal practice for red clover is to chop it for silage in late May or early June, then irrigate if you can. Then in late august we swath as soon as the seed hardens in the heads. Then in three to ten days we combine it. We have hard rubber inserts in the concaves to help take the "husk" off the seed. Our driest time of year is usually late June to early September.
As far as I know nobody around here field packs berry's. Ours always go to a packing shed. | |
