I would disagree on the reel and roughage. We have a Farm Aid mixer with a big reel and it works great in silage/ground hay with a lot less HP requirement


Farm aid is a totally different style of reel. Its a tumble style reel with no center drive. Works fine with high rougage. If you get into a knight, sac or roto mix reel the game changes fast. And things will break.


Newer ones are Center drive. Old ones like mine are driven on outer part of reel.
