Alton, Ia | Don't be so hard on the guy. I've been wondering for years if running my equipment on Positive grounds would give me higher test weight than what I'm getting from Negative grounded systems. Or maybe if I run one beacon on Neg and one on Pos, I'll get the local retiring landowner to knock down my door and rent me his ground, as long as I spray Dicamba twice, and pull a 1000 bu grain cart with a 4020.
Hee hee.....
But to your serious point. I agree, if you don't know that much, don't bother. Personally, IIRC, I was quoted $1600 for an autolube option on a combine. I first thought yikes, but then, when you figure the hours, the longer chain life, the reduced downtime, etc. it's probably a worthwhile add.
