NNW Nebraska | Dont think what i was thinking will work becausr of not enough room by hogs. Very similar to what play in the dirt had. Had another small pen and gate.
If cows dont want to go through gated, you need a wing. Could be as simple as a portable feed bunk or a tractor. Ir portable panels set up in somewhat of a L.
Simplest thing you could try, I will try to send a picture.
Both ends of wings are open for cows to go around when nit trying to get them in alley.
