Subject: RE: Rowcommand Clutch/Gearbox Maintenance

Sw mn
I have the same shaft drive on my planter. And during planting season I had one row low on singulation and spacing. So after swapping the box with the next row the problem moved. Checked everything I could and found nothing wrong. So I swapped the shaft and no chance. Then I swapped the gearbox and the problem moved.so after taking my gear box apart I had a stiff bearing. Checked with John Deere and they wanted $20 for the bearing but kept telling me that the gear box is non repairable. After posting it on again talk I found the bearing and they cost $1. And John Deere wanted to sell me a new gearbox. So I went through all mine on the planter. Just take the box apart and look for the number on the bearing and go to fast Eddy bearings and order a few.
