Planning to book a room before tickets go on sale before the big rush. The closest are 3-4 blocks away . . . . . there are many, many within the Mpls Down Town proper. Type in "Closest hotels to US Bank Stadium" and you can pick you fancy.
There is another option - The light rail train drops off and picks up at US Bank - you could consider staying out by the Airport or Mall of America and the ride the rail ? Edit to add: Or, along University Ave - Hotels along that route also. The whole down town area around the Hotels are safe and all supported by skyway and sidewalk to US Bank. Aloft Hotel, Radisson Red, Hilton or one of the Marriott's would be my choice. Get down to the Mill Ruins Park and visit or stay. Enjoy ! 2nd Edit to add: Parking - ask about parking, if you drive - where, how much and security of parking.
