Alton, Ia | Forgot one negative: It does not do well with 'short' beans, maybe less than 12-16" or so. We rarely have short beans, but did in a few wet spots, etc. this fall. The hump between the sickle and belt is a challenge for short beans to get across. Also, if you stop moving midfield we tended to drop a small pile of beans, and it would not sweep them back in. Similar to endrows, just had to travel 5-8' with head down and they would get swept in. Not a huge loss by any stretch, just something that is a little annoying. But if you typically have short beans across the field it will be an issue. | |
