woodchuck - 12/6/2018 14:52 Restricting the roof ventilation is the worst thing you could do for winter, that's when it's needed the most. As said frost and moisture will form on underside of roof. Roof cold, warm migrates through ceiling and insulation. Hot air holds more moisture than cold. That's why a can of beer sweats on outside and not the inside of can. Gable vents maybe just enough to get by but can have issue long term if not correct size. Sometimes physics suck. LOL Dave


Exactly right, unless you like mold and rotten things, let it breathe.  I put a thermometer in my attic to make sure its close to the same temp as outside, thats the point of insulation.
