I've been starting to think that maybe the administration doesn't really want a deal, and is just hell-bent on wrecking China's economy. His article made me think of the other face of the argument. At this point nobody expects much anything from Xi. However, with the midterms, NAFTA, etc already distant memories, while our own stock market is beginning to roll over, perhaps Trump has the burden of proof right now. It's the closest thing I've got to optimism right now. |
