Subject: RE: Fall Soil Sampling '18

SW Iowa
Have you used Waypoint for soil testing in the past, and did results of this year's samples make sense based on previous soil test results + fertilizer - crop removal?

Before you spend big $ upping fertilizer rates, I'd suggest re-pulling at least a few samples and sending them to a different lab. I had samples tested at Waypoint for a few years... noticed some anomalous data on a few samples (like reported values completely out of range) the first couple years but mostly OK; last year results showed several unexpectedly low values and pretty drastic variability that hadn't been there in the past. I re-pulled some of the lowest-testing samples and sent them to Midwest and they came back considerably higher... can't say for sure that it was a lab problem (I pulled the initial samples in the fall and then it froze up, so I wasn't able to sample for re-tests until spring) but I have my suspicions.
