The squirrel population here is tremendously high this year. I have nearly 20% damage to my apple crop, and that is on the harvested bushels, that doesn't count the ones that the squirrels ate or knocked off the tree.
So carry on Farmspec, Don't let the naysayers here bother you. I won't mention the casualties to the squirrel population here this fall, but there were times it approached double digits per day.
What kind of corn to bag for squirrel corn?
