Subject: RE: Steel pipe insulators

Top middle of MO. land of green hills and grass
I've been working in some driven pipe corners here. Don’t use pipe line posts so far, but will consider.

First round I did, I just welded a bead on the pipe to help hold the wrap around insulator. Still had to have a kid to help hold it until wire was tight.

I also double up my end insulators, use the slide on tubing with the steel liner around the posts, as well as a kiwi end insulator from Kencove for one end and the tube+a spring insulator from Kencove for the other end. Seems to me like a few extra insulators saves voltage leaks, even on wood posts. My FIL just uses the tube and when wet, you can hear his corners clicking.

The next batch I'm doing, I think I'll slide a section of 3" drain tiLe over my corner and bend posts to give a notch for the wire/insulator to sit in and not slide around.
