Yes, I agree this is serious business and something to be "aware of". And there are myriads of other strange notions floating around in the world today. In fact, I think things are getting so bizarre its highly likely that the creator of everything will soon be "stepping-in" and straightening things out!
There's always been plenty of crazy ideas, but the internet has given them all a megaphone for the masses to hear.
