I plant smartstax on corn on corn but plant 67% conv on cob. I put double pro in rows 1,2 and 11, 12 on my 12 row planter and conv in rows 3-10. So I have 33% corn borer protection plus the 5% RIB in the double pro, RR protection from drift from neighbors for outside boundary spraying RR.
Oh, you don't know how blessed you are if your neighbors only drift two rows onto your field. I didn't plant RR corn for the most part until 2011 or so, but I had neighbors who did and who were generous with their spray applications. So, without telling them, I started planting 12 rows RR all the way around the field. Still put up the conventional corn sign.
It turned out that I needed 24 rows RR.
