Nevada, Iowa | I didn't read all the responses so this may be rehash but in the past you could treat the loan as income or as a loan but you can not do this at will. You were allowed a one time opportunity to switch how you reported the loan and then you had to continue the process. I don't know if new tax law changes have affected any of this. I am always behind on regulations it seems.
