Tuscola, IL | 162 will work but I can’t testify as to how well. I have a few 162 receivers doing mapping but I haven’t personally been in or around one using a 162 for autosteer.
The big thing that would sway me towards a 252 or 262 would be you should be able to buy one with no unlocks for $1,000 to $1,500. So really for the cost to unlock your 162 you could potentially find one of the better receivers. I’d hate to have $1,000 wrapped up in something that may not work the greatest if you could have something I know works just fine for $500 more.
If your 162 happens to be unlocked, definitely worth a try. But, yeah, that’s all you will need to start steering. Pro 700 and NAV and 162/252/262/372.
Keep in mind if looking at used, you want to be sure it’s a Case IH NAV and not a Trimble NAV. The Trimble NAV can work, but it will have to be sent to AG Express and ‘flipped’. Usually runs around $75 to do that. | |
