If you are looking to supply GPS for product control, yield monitoring, coverage, etc.... any GPS can be used with GS2/GS3 as long as it has serial output. Pretty sure settings are:

GGA 5 hz
RMC 5hz
GSA 5 hz
19200 baud

There is a DB9 serial in cable available from John Deere dealer that connects to back of GS2/GS3 display harness.

If you want to autosteer with GS2/GS3 display and use factory JD autosteer controller pretty sure you are limited to John Deere iTC, 3000, and 6000
