Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn. | I've had the Ag Leader side mount moisture sensor on several combines. I made a Tee out of weatherpak connectors that allows me to branch off a pair of wires from the motor connection and route them to the cab. In the cab I have these two wires connected to a small light or LED. I can glance at the indicator and tell if the auger motor is getting power or not. In corn the auger runs almost constantly except for course when the combine runs empty which may happen while turning around on the ends. In soybeans it runs about half the time.
If I have problems with the moisture seeming to stick at one value (really hasn't happened to me) I can easily glance at the indicator to decide if the motor is getting the message to turn. |
