Subject: RE: Dogs that are family

Nw Iowa
The old dog and the new dog posting above reminds me of some friends who go to our church. They had a older dog for along time and when our friends started their family they thought they would get a new dog that might warm up to kids. So the first new dog ran away on a Sunday when they were away to church, or so they thought. So after awhile they found another puppy and same thing happened but both times when they came home from church old dog was sitting under the tree if nothing had happened. So they eventually found a third puppy and all was well. The next Sunday they had to turn around and go home as they forgot something and lo and behold they met the old dog running with the puppy as fast as he could about 3 miles from home, which confused them as old dog never ran. Then they started to piece what was happening. Old dog knew family would be gone for 2 2 1/2 hrs every Sunday morning and that was the time he needed to lose the pup and get back home and still be king of the hill. I think they may have ended up finding one of the pups but thought it was a cute story that dogs have a pecking order also.
