Many people had the same reaction in Colorado.
Turns out that the Bud and other major beers there are 3.2%. They look the same as what you normally find in other states, but in CO, they end up as 3.2% unless you get them at a liquor store or a bar.
Clearwater Beach in Florida was the same when I was there a few years back. Between slow service and lite weight drinks, we couldn't figure out how all the drunk idiots were possible.
