This is apparently not the same as the chokecherries we have in Colorado. They are pretty bitter, but they make really good syrup or jelly, the syrup is my favorite on pancakes. You have to go up to about 8000 ft. to find them, & you have to watch out for bears...where there's ripe chokecherries, there will be bears.
