Carroll, OH | An air screen cleaner would scalp, or remove the large trash with a 14 or 12 round hole (14/64 or 12/64) which would be a quarter inch or 0.2 inch round hole. The hail screen is usually 1/4 in square, so might work. You would need to have the screen held tight in some frame and have a shake action to work the remaining chaf off the lower edge while the "clean" grain falls through. Having a fan blow across the falling grain would clean out a lot of dust and fines that come through the screen.
You may be able to find a rotary grain cleaner with the appropriate screens that you could borrow.
There always seems to be a couple of Clipper 2B seed cleaners on Craigslist in our area. for a couple hundred bucks you could put together a small, slow system that would only take a couple of days to clean the 450 bushels. | |
