Subject: Glyphosate application on RR sweet corn

Southeast PA
Have some Attribute II trailted sweet corn tolerant to both roundup and liberty. My pre usually does a fantastic job in notill sweet corn so never have had to use post herbicide app...use it mostly for ear worm protection to cut down on sprays.

Have a patch with Johnson grass pressure. Corn is about 40 inches tall maybe 48” by the time I get there. Most roundup labels say post app on roundup ready sweet corn up to 30inches or drop nozzles up to 48inches to avoid getting herbicide in whorl. Can I just run the boom low enough bending over corn to get herbicide under canopy? Or do I need to run drop nozzles? Never having done this will late post applications deform the ears? That’s my concern. Thanks in advance
