Mid-Missouri | Have a herd of cattle on one farm in particular with a very bad eye problem. Nearly half of the herd has eye issues with the just-weaned 600# animals. Also, several newborn and a few handful of mother cows have eye trouble. This all started late winter, around early March, which is very unusual to have any issue that early.
We have doctored these weaned calves a few times the last few months.
Medicine does not seem to help. Hexasol, la300, vetricyn eye spray, etc... they have no flies and are on nice pasture with minimal weeds and long grass. They have mineral and have been given vitamins.
Some eyes are blue grey. Other eyes are red and white. Where to go from here?
