Safe around food and safe ON food are 2 different things. The label is the law and I'd bet the label doesn't say you can use it on food. I'd stick with one of the known safe on food insecticides. Maybe look for an Extension publication with some ideas.

Actually sevin has a pre harvest interval of one day on berry crops.
I consider tempo much safer than sevin since it is labeled for food preparation surfaces where sevin is not.

Since I only spray foilage, I don't think it is an issue. Berries are washed thoroughly after picking anyway.

I read where in other countries sewage water is used for irrigation. I stay away from imported produce.
